MO opened strong, CtE blew the roof off.
Manchester Orchestra started off the night with their great performance. Despite not being familiar with most of their songs, I did recognize Shake It Out and I Have Friends, both fantastic tunes. The audience didn't seem very energetic, which added to the overall dullness. I couldn't wait for their setlist to end as the songs all started blending together.
The opening act, "Oh, Brother," left me more weirded out than impressed. The bassist tipping back and spraying water out of his mouth was quite bizarre. They might gather their following, but their style didn't quite match with Manchester Orchestra or Tropidelic.
Moving forward, Tropidelic stole the show for me. From the moment they opened with In One Ear, I was hooked. Their performance was electrifying, with every song played amazingly. Matt's wild crowd-surfing and the audience's lively response made it an unforgettable experience. I was ecstatic when they played No Rest for the Weekend and Around My Head. I had no regrets about attending their set.
